Key Learning Features

🔥

I.C. Engine Working Principle

Students observed demonstrations explaining the fundamental working principle of Internal Combustion (I.C.) engines and their engineering applications.

🔄

Four-Stroke Engine Cycle

The four stages of the engine cycle—Suction, Compression, Power and Exhaust—were explained using practical demonstrations.

⚙️

Major Engine Components

Students learned about cylinders, pistons, connecting rods, crankshafts, valves and spark plugs or injectors and their respective functions.

Petrol and Diesel Engines

The visit introduced students to the concepts of petrol SI engines and diesel CI engines, highlighting their basic operating principles.

🔧

Reciprocating to Rotary Motion

Students understood how reciprocating motion generated by the piston is converted into rotary motion through the crankshaft mechanism.

Student Learning Outcomes

The educational visit helped students connect classroom concepts with practical engineering demonstrations. The hands-on exposure to I.C. engines and their components strengthened students’ understanding of engine cycles, mechanisms and fundamental automotive engineering principles.
