Workshop on Basics of AI/ML
A 3-Day Workshop for First Year Students covering Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Generative AI Tools, Prompting Techniques and Basic AI/ML Applications
Workshop Overview
The fundamental aim of this workshop was to equip participants with practical experience in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning concepts, generative AI tools, prompting techniques, and basic AI/ML applications.
Each day featured a comprehensive blend of theoretical knowledge and practical activities tailored for the students. A total of 70 students benefitted immensely from this workshop.
The workshop provided students with opportunities to explore AI/ML concepts, practical coding, generative AI tools, prompting techniques and basic applications through a blend of theory and hands-on activities.
Objectives of the Workshop
Know What AI/ML Is
Learn what Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning mean, and see how they are used in daily life, such as Google Maps, YouTube suggestions or Alexa.
Learn the Basics
Understand simple ideas like data, algorithms, and how machines can “learn” from examples.
Try It Yourself
Perform small hands-on activities with Python and simple ML tasks to build confidence in coding and experimentation.
Hands-on Practice
Gain hands-on practice with Google Colab, Jupyter Notebook and ChatGPT.
Think Smart
Practice solving small problems step by step, and learn how to use logic and data to find answers.
