Learning from an Industry Expert
The Automation and Robotics Department organized an expert guest lecture on Machine Learning on 27 August 2026. The session was conducted to provide students with an understanding of Machine Learning concepts, important algorithms and their growing applications in modern industries and technology.
The lecture offered students an opportunity to explore the fundamentals of intelligent systems and understand how Machine Learning is transforming fields such as healthcare, banking, education, agriculture, robotics and digital technology.

Types of Machine Learning
The three major types of Machine Learning—Supervised Learning, Unsupervised Learning and Reinforcement Learning—were explained using simple and practical examples.
Machine Learning Algorithms
Students were introduced to important Machine Learning algorithms including Linear Regression, Logistic Regression, Decision Tree, Random Forest, Support Vector Machine (SVM) and K-Means Clustering.
Real-World Applications
The lecture highlighted applications of Machine Learning in healthcare, banking, education, agriculture, robotics, recommendation systems, image recognition and fraud detection.
