Zero-Tolerance Policy

Our institution strictly follows a zero-tolerance policy towards sexual harassment. In line with statutory government directives, all complaints brought to the college’s notice are handled with the highest degree of confidentiality, thoroughness, and institutional seriousness.

Sexual Harassment Consequences (POSH Act, 2013)

1. Disciplinary Actions

The Internal Committee (IC) may recommend that the employer execute appropriate strict actions against the respondent, including:

  • Formal written apology or explicit warnings.
  • Withholding of promotions, raises, or increments.
  • Suspension from services or complete termination of employment.
  • Any other action dictated by organizational service rules and applicable laws.

2. Financial Compensation

  • The ICC can direct payment of monetary compensation to the aggrieved woman to address mental trauma, emotional distress, and loss of career opportunities.
  • The mandated compensation amount shall be deducted directly from the salary/wages of the respondent.

3. Compliance Framework

  • Malicious Intent: Strict provisions exist to penalize malicious or intentionally false complaints in strict accordance with the Act.
  • Enforcement Window: The ICC ensures that all final recommendations are processed and enforced strictly within 60 days.
