Workshop Objective
The Computer Engineering Department organized a 2 Days WordPress Website Development Workshop aimed at empowering students with practical website-building skills using WordPress.
The workshop focused on both WordPress.com and WordPress.org with XAMPP server, enabling students to create customized, scalable, and professional websites aligned with industry standards.
Day 1 (24th August 2025): WordPress.com Basics
- Introduction to WordPress and its applications
- Creating and customizing websites using WordPress.com
- Understanding themes, plugins, and basic settings
- Hands-on session: Designing a sample website
Day 2 (31st August 2025): WordPress.org with XAMPP
- Installing and configuring XAMPP server
- Setting up WordPress locally using WordPress.org
- Database setup and configuration
- Hands-on session: Building customized websites with themes and plugins
Outcome of the Workshop
A total of 43 students benefited from this practical and interactive workshop. Students showcased their developed websites at the end of the session, followed by a feedback discussion.
The workshop received positive feedback for its practical orientation and industry-relevant guidance. It significantly enhanced students’ technical competencies and prepared them for real-world website development tasks.
