The Department of Automation and Robotics Engineering was recently established at Marathwada Mitra Mandal’s Polytechnic for the academic year 2024-25, offering a UG program with an intake capacity of 60 students. This program is approved by AICTE, recognized by the Government of Maharashtra, Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), and affiliated with the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE).

Automation is crucial in the manufacturing industry, with many companies seeking lean manufacturing solutions. Robotics offers numerous benefits that are essential for staying competitive, making it a key technology in Industrial Revolution 4.0.

Automation and Robotics Engineering is an emerging multidisciplinary course requiring comprehensive application-based knowledge in both hardware and software development. This includes the design, construction, operation, and application of robots, along with computer-based control systems, sensory feedback, and information processing.

The design of robotic systems integrates principles from mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, electrical/electronic engineering, and computer engineering. Graduates of this course will find ample opportunities to work as robot design engineers, robot programmers, robotics system engineers, and more in fields such as industrial automation, manufacturing, agriculture, mining, civil engineering, aerospace, healthcare, and defense.
